Facebook is a social networking website intended to connect friends, family, and business associates. Its the fifth most visited networking site, with the runner up being Myspace. It started off as college networking site only available to Harvard students and other ivy league universities. Now Facebook is Worldwide! To date, Facebook has over 62 million active subscribers worldwide- not including those subscribers who signed up this year. I believe Facebook has become popular for three reasons: uploading pictures, "being in the know", and games. Instead of emailing back and fourth pictures to friends you can easy upload them to your profile page in a album. Facebook saves a lot of time trying to communicate with former friends or relatives. Instead of having to instant message someone what they are doing you can easily see it through a status update. Games have also impacted Facebook's popularity! There are tons to pick from and they are very addictive since you can play against friends. Overall, I believe Facebook was a great idea and in my opinion its here to stay!
